Description
Supporting and executing the SCPP's strategic vision.

Working closely with the Registrar/CEO and the rest of the executive leadership team to ensure efficient and effective operations across all departments.

Exceptional project management skills, strong ability in writing and analyzing policy, preparing briefing notes, conducting research, analyzing data, supporting internal and external communications through the Communications Officer, supporting the SCPP's strategic implementation plan and successfully implementing policies, projects and programs.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

  • Support the development and execution of the organization's strategic plan, working closely with senior leadership to define priorities, goals, and objectives.
  • Assist in the development of longterm plans and initiatives.
  • Assist with Council documents and preparation of reports.
  • Monitor progress towards strategic goals, identifying opportunities and challenges, and adjusting strategies as needed to ensure successful implementation.

Project and Program Management:

  • Work within the organization to lead, support and or manage key projects and programs from conception to completion. This includes defining project scope, developing timelines, allocating resources, monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery and communication.

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Research, draft, and review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
  • Communicate policy changes effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of policies across all departments and externally as required.

Project Implementation:

  • Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines.
  • Provide guidance and support to senior leadership teams as needed.

Executive Support:

  • Provide strategic support on various matters.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, reports, research, briefing notes and other materials for executive meetings, Council and other key initiatives.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Develop and implement performance metrics to track progress towards strategic goals. Analyze data and provide insights to senior leadership to inform decisionmaking.

Strategic Communication and Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the Communications Officer when appropriate to prepare communication to stakeholders.
  • Work with executive leadership and Communications Officer as part of the strategic communications plan for the organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information, present ideas clearly and persuasively, and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to define project scope, develop timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery.

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Proficiency in researching, drafting, and analyzing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Able to fully implement a policy and or program.

  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, handle ambiguity, and navigate complex situations effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify challenges, evaluate options, and develop creative solutions to address organizational issues and opportunities.

  • Track record of successfully implementing strategic initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives and driving measurable results.

  • Observes privacy, confidentiality and all applicable SCPP policies.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, policy development, program management, and stakeholder engagement, preferably within a regulatory or government environment.
