Dynasty Power trades electricity, gas, and environmental products across the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Dynasty is active in all the major power trading markets including CAISO, Ontario IESO, ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, MISO, SPP, AESO, and ERCOT.

We are looking to add financial power traders at all experience levels to our US-based team.

This position is located in our Houston office or our new Calgary office.


Responsibilities

• Trade proprietary shortterm financial products, primarily in PJM and MISO.
• Perform analysis and fundamental research related to PJM, MISO, and other markets in the Eastern Interconnect.
• Work with other members of the desk to share market knowledge and views.
• Work with Origination to price and manage structured deals as required.
• Work in close partnership with control functions such as Compliance, Risk, and Credit to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree from a leading university with a concentration in Economics, Business, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics
• 2+ years of trading experience in physical and financial power.
• Demonstrated knowledge of power and gas fundamentals in the Eastern Interconnect.
• Demonstrated knowledge of market rules and tariffs of RTO/ISOs in the Eastern Interconnect
• Selfmotivated and has the desire to achieve success in a rapidly evolving highpressure trading environment.

Skills

• Proprietary trading experience.
• Experience managing power assets.
• Experience trading Virtuals and UPTOs.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills required.
• Programming experience is desirable (Python, VBA, SQL)
• Data Science skills are desirable (Tableau, R, Power BI)
