JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, COVID-19 Response, the Program Manager Outbreak Management is responsible for coordinating the management of COVID-19 outbreaks as well as other outbreaks of public health significance in community and institutional settings


Responsibilities include:
recruitment, supervision and evaluation of staff and participating in division manager communicable disease after-hours on-call coverage.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Baccalaureate degree in a health discipline or a related discipline pertinent to job functions combined with relevant management training and management. Relevant postgraduate degree is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • Proven ability to foster staff, multidisciplinary work teams and organizational development towards excellence in service delivery
  • Progressively responsible management experience, preferably in public health or municipal services sector
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Infectious Disease and Infection Control Management and surveillance
  • Knowledge of the Health Protection and Promotion Act and its Regulations, Ontario Public Health Standards and other relevant legislation
  • Possess a demonstrated record of strong leadership and guidance, innovation/creativity, empowerment and results orientation
  • Previous experience in the preparation of documents and technical reports and previous experience preparing reports to Council.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations as it relates to the position

  • Skills in financial management and policies, including analytical, problemsolving and business planning skills. Skills in developing, implementing and monitoring division budgets.
  • Possess a high level of personal integrity and sound judgment.

  • Maintenance of uptodate knowledge of all relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations, including:
