    Registered Nurse IIC
    Care Facilitator - Acute Care
    Permanent Full Time
    Location: Happy Valley - Goose Bay, NL
    (PCN: 56278POS)

    Reporting to the Inpatient Clinical Nurse Manager in collaboration with the Regional Director of Care of Acute Care, the Care Facilitator is responsible, and accountable for providing clinical supervision and expert clinical support and mentorship primarily to the staff of the Inpatient Units. This position is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice. Applicants must be exceptionally well organized, possess strong clinical skills, knowledge, and expertise, skilled in strategic planning and performance management. This position involves duties that require multitasking, critical thinking, and process development, implementation, and evaluation.

    Qualifications:

    " Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
    " Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
    " A minimum of five years current clinical nursing experience including a minimum of 2 years' acute care experience;
    " Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
    " Breastfeeding course/education;
    " Successful completion of NRP and ACLS and TNCC or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
    " Current BCLS certification;
    " Successful completion of CTAS or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
    " Proficient in the use of basic computer programs including Meditech and Microsoft Office;
    " The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check;

    Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

    " Provides clinical support / mentorship to the Inpatient Unit staff;
    " Provides frontline support when staffing levels are unable to meet acuity demands;
    " Round on all patients;
    " Review and update patient assignments as required during the shift in response to admissions, discharges, patient acuity, etc.;
    " Coordinate patient care with members of the health care team, patients, and family and community agencies, in partnership with the primary care nurse;
    " Acts as a liaison to other healthcare facilities and professionals regarding patient care;
    " Ensures quality assurance checks are complete;
    " Audits assignment, unit and patient communication boards as required;
    " Responsible for providing feedback to Clinical Nurse Managers on performance of staff;
    " Gathers unit stats to support Clinical Nurse Manager; month end reports, annual report etc.;
    " Ensure units/client rooms are stocked with necessary supplies;
    " Ensure equipment is functioning and available;
    " Other related duties as required.

    Salary:

    " NS - 32 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $43.72 to $54.16 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance;

    Hours of Work:

    " 75 hours bi-weekly; variable shifts.
