  • The Early Childhood Education Department in the Faculty of Applied Community Studies is hiring contract faculty instructors for our Winter (January-April 2023) semester.

The Role

  • You will instruct students in the Department of Early Childhood Education.
  • The Department offers a twoyear online/hybrid diploma program that prepares students for basic ECE certification as well as certification as a Special Needs Educator. Students may also complete a postdiploma citation in Infant-Toddler Care.
    Responsibilities
  • You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in the Early Childhood Education Diploma program. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain high quality learnercentred instruction.

  • ECED Methods for Inclusive Play-Based Programmes for Young Children
  • ECED ECE Curriculum
  • ECED Indigenous Worldview and Early Childhood Education
  • ECED Global Perspectives and Early Childhood Education

Online/Virtual

  • ECED Promoting Healthy Practices in Early Childhood Education
  • ECED Professional Growth and Communication
  • ECED Working with Families in Early Childhood Education
  • ECED Administrative Skills for ECE Centres
  • ECED Advanced Growth and Development: Individual Planning for Children with
Diverse Abilities

  • ECED Indigenous Worldview and Early Childhood Education
Further contracts may be awarded in the future.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • Experience or strong interest in teaching applied knowledge and skills to postsecondary students.
  • Experience caring for and/or working with young children in a childcare, preschool or kindergarten setting.
  • Interest and/or proficiency in technology using an onlinebased teaching & learning platform.
  • Excellent communication & time management skills.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Have a computer.
