- 8 Hour Shifts: Days, Evenings, Weekends (Subject to Change)

Wage Schedule:
$65.170 per hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide expert clinical resource in fast-paced hospital Emergency Departments (ED) specializing in geriatric care.
- Assess, plan interventions, support transition planning with Home First Philosophy.
- Implement and evaluate care for elderly persons with complex geriatric health problems.
- Collaborate with patients, families, interprofessional teams, and community partners.
- Assist elderly individuals in achieving optimal independent functioning.
- Reduce Alternate Level of Care days and ED visits.
- Observe trends, suggest system improvements, and initiate quality enhancements.
- Contribute to hospital-wide geriatric capacity building and quarterly regional metric reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Geriatric Nursing Specialty certification preferred.
- Member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
- Competent in performing CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal, problem-solving, and teaching abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of nursing process, consultation, program planning, and crisis management.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within interprofessional teams.
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience in Gerontological nursing and education.
- Comprehensive knowledge of community supports for the senior population.

- Good attendance record and capability to maintain the same standard.
