PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Leads the marketing of specifically assigned Rare Disease products and projects, analyzes market trends, monitors competitor trends, identifies market requirements and opportunities and develops and executes approved marketing plans and strategies to meet current and longterm business objectives.
    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Product and disease state knowledge; Identifies strategies and programs based on disease state knowledge and its impact on key customer segments. Identifies competitive threats and opportunities and develops marketing programs to minimize risks and capitalize on opportunities
  • Market, Industry and customer understanding; Leverages knowledge of the healthcare and access environment, relevant laws and company procedures, customer needs, competitor products trends and activities in the development of strategies and tactics for band plans for inclusion in the strategic brand plan. Communicates the impact of any changes in the above and incorporates them into strategies, messaging and tactics
  • Research and analysis; Through data analysis evaluate effectiveness of strategies and tactics, identify issues, and make recommendations. Monitors and follows up on key performance indicators
  • Develops and executes marketing plans; Leads the design and execution of strategic brand plans in accordance with stage in brand lifecycle. Identifies and capitalizes on synergies and opportunities across the portfolio
  • Leads and manages projects; Provides clear and adequate direction to vendors, agencies or consultants. Leads cross functional teams on projects aligned to strategic objectives. Allocates resources and establishes norms on the cross functional project teams
  • Business and financial analytics; Creates and manages yearly product or portfolio budget and tracks monthly

KEY COMPLIANCE ACCOUNTABILITES

  • Complies with all Canadian external policies (Health Canada, PAAB, Biotech Canada etc.) and governance and Novo Nordisk SOP's, policies, procedures, vision and ways of working
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management

GOALS

  • Leads the development and implementation of strategic business plans to ensure the achievement of business goals which ensures the overall success of NNCI
  • Develops through consultation with key internal and external stakeholders promotional strategies, supporting materials and programs to drive the brand/portfolio success
  • Communicates the rollout of cycle strategy, tools and programs to the Key Account Managers that will drive business results
  • Monitors and analyzes product performance against objectives through review of regular market tracking reports, identifies issues, challenges or successes and recommends changes as appropriate to meet business goals
  • Manages the successful initiation, completion and execution of projects (on time and on budget) with external vendors and or internal stakeholders to develop programs, and sales tools that will drive business results

EDUCATION (Minimum Requirements)

  • University Graduation (BSc.) or equivalent

EXPERIENCE (Minimum Requirements)

  • Minimum of 7 years pharmaceutical industry or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years pharmaceutical marketing or equivalent experience
  • Pharmaceutical sales experience is highly recommended

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Head officed based position
  • Works in an openoffice environment with exposure to multiple demands, deadlines and constant interruptions
  • Little exposure to hazards while performing the duties of the job.
