- Preparing financial statements
- Supporting elected officials at board and general meetings
- Performing internal reviews for Locals, Professional Associations and Regional Representative Councils
- Supporting the external auditor as required
- Budget preparation
- Internal financial, managerial, and ad hoc analyses
- Providing professional development for Treasurers
Qualifications:
The successful candidate ideally will have:- University Degree and Accounting Designation CPA (or in the process of obtaining) preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates with accounting and auditing experience
- Familiarity with accounting software (Sage, Quicken)
- Intermediate to Advanced skill with Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Superior organizational skills with emphasis on attention to details
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with members and colleagues
- Self-Starter; able to work independently while being part of a team
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and stressful situations with confidence
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Must possess a valid Driver's License as occasional travel throughout the province will be required
- Ability to communicate in French would be considered an asset
