About the opportunity-Dalhousie University's Clinical Psychology PhD program, within the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, Faculty of Science, is based on a scientist-practitioner model and is designed to give our graduates a thorough grounding in science, research, and clinical practice. Students are focused on research from the beginning of the program. Students also start applied training in their first year and continue throughout the program. Due to our emphasis on the science of psychology, our program produces clinical psychologists who blend the ideals of research and service.
The Clinical Psychology PhD Program is expanding its mandate through a new community-based (off-campus) psychology training clinic.

The clinic will provide mental health and addictions assessment and treatment services to Nova Scotians, with particular emphasis on clients from marginalized and diverse populations.
