Gaslight Events Company is looking for an experienced Line/Prep Cook to join our amazing team Operating in the up and coming Gaslight District in Cambridge, we are focused on providing our guests with a truly world class experience at Tapestry Hall, Foundry Tavern, Bellflower Market, and the Underwing.


LINE/PREP COOKS advance your culinary journey by working with some of the world's finest menu offerings and teams of dedicated and talented cooks who share a passion for the culinary arts.

YOU ARE:


  • Passionate about food and cooking with a willingness to learn
  • Versed in food safety to ensure the highest standards are executed
  • Experienced in completing inventory checks for food items
  • A hard worker driven to achieve individual, team and company goals
  • Versed in health and safety and food preparation
  • Eager to learn the process of operating a busy kitchen

What will be your responsibilities as a cook?

  • Learn various stations including but not limited to: Cold/fry, flat top/grill/broiler and prep/line set up
  • Prepare fresh ingredients, unique Canadian recipes and send out only topquality dishes
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and clean work environment at all times
  • Work with the team to execute large volumes of orders and pars
  • Communicate clearly, calmly, and often
  • Gain experience in the business side of cooking learn about food costing and time management

Qualifications:


  • You have minimum 1 year of restaurant Line Cook experience (in a comparable fullservice restaurant environment)
  • You have strong organization & time management skills
  • You are passionate about food & culinary excellence
  • You are driven, you take initiative & you never turn your head from a standard
  • You know success comes from dedication & hard work, which you do not shy away from
  • You thrive in a fastpaced environment
  • You are able to work days, nights, weekends & holidays in a fulltime capacity
  • You are able to make a minimum one (1) year commitment to our team
  • You may be interested in working towards your Red Seal

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$18.00-$25.50 per hour


Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cambridge, ON N1S 0B7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
