    NAIT's Corporate and ContinuingEducation (CCE) is seeking an enthusiastic and talented multimedia designerresponsible for the creation of digital Learning Resources (LR), as directed byCCE's Curriculum Development team. Reporting to the Multimedia Lead inCurriculum Development, you will be responsible for the visual design anddevelopment of graphics (still and animated) and interactive web-delivered LRas part of a high-functioning, multi-disciplinary production team.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in design and production of documents,graphics, interactive LR, video, and audio to enhance user experience innon-credit NAIT courses, workshops, micro credentials, and webinars. Theseproducts are used as learning objects for various methods of educationaldelivery; however, much of the work is for online delivery in NAIT's learningmanagement system (LMS).
  • Consult on project scope and contribute to curriculumdevelopment decision making guided by User Experience (UX) principles, as partof a diverse team.
  • Develop storyboards for videos and interactive LR.
  • Develop scripts and create audio components.
  • Transcribe and caption videos for accessibility.
  • Collaborate to devise and optimize multimedia designprocesses which will be implemented in various CCE curriculum developmentprojects.
  • Assist project/team members to determine project needsand develop prototypes to guide project decisions.
  • Incorporate accessibility features into LR and LMScourse sites.
  • Produce design materials using appropriate equipmentand software and provide technical support and expertise in the creation ofspecialized graphics.
  • Research and consult on the use of appropriate andinnovative digital tools for development projects and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and cross-train team members on varioussoftware applications.
  • Provide support in the ongoing LMS transitionregarding SCORM objects, interactive activities, multimedia components, coursedevelopments, and training as needed.
  • Provide backup support for MS PowerApps and PowerBIapplications.
  • Provide assistance for Curriculum Support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong learning design skills for e-authoring and digitalmedia such as motion graphics and interactive web apps.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator,Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Stock) and Microsoft Office365.
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles andgraphic design principles.
  • Familiarity with the production processes used tocreate multimedia components such as digital images, digital video, andinteractive multimedia programming as well as the ability to work with Windowsand Mac operating systems.
  • Familiarity with e-authoring and e-learning technologies(Articulate360, Adobe Captivate, H5P), Vyond, and cross-platform productiontools preferred.
  • Knowledge of CSS, HTML5, or other programming languagesis an asset.

  • Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in graphic design, UX design, orvisual communication.
  • Considerable applicable professional experience isrequired.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experiencemay be considered.
  • Portfolio of recent projects.
