Front Desk and Customer Service Representative (Customer Happiness Officer) for our Bloor West Village location. We are looking for someone who is a customer-experience pro to represent the MakerKids vision and support our MakerKids community.
What does a Front Desk and Customer Service Representative
representative do?
- Represents MakerKids energetically, passionately, and professionally
- Supports kids and their families as they come in and out of class, have questions about our programs, and have issues that need to be solved
- Keeps the Centre running smoothly by working closely with the General Manager and Instructors to ensure cleanliness, safety, and overall positive customer experience
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Maintains an effective referral program
- Maintains accurate records using established MakerKids sales systems.
- Conducts telephone inquiries/follow up calls/customer care calls
- Leads MakerKids makerspace previews with prospects and/or program holders
- Greets members and guests promptly, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive entrance into the MakerKids studio
- Accurately follow the daily studio cleaning checklist ( pre/during/post ) shift activities
- Must be able to participate in 12 MakerKids scheduled classes per week
- Maintains an organized and clean lobby/front desk area
- Responsible for processing accurate cash and credit card transactions
- Follow up and follow through activities with all prospective clients
- Responds immediately to member requests, inquiries and concerns.
- Proper onboarding of MakerKids clients
- Works closely with MakerKids Team to ensure that processes are fulfilled
- Responsible for attending and participating in all related MakerKids training programs
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous sales experience, with strong sales skills (experience working in a sales quota bearing structure highly preferred)
- Solid verbal and written communication skills required
- Able to multitask and excel in a busy environment.
- Functional computer skills required
- MS Office basic programs (Word, Excel), Internet, Basic computer program software use
- Camp & Technology minded people strongly preferred
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to work and function in an MakerKids TEAM environment (Team is more than a just a word, it's an attitude)
- Flexible to work day, evening and/or weekend hours as needed

- You are a customerexperience pro Experience in sales and management of kids' programs is considered an asset, though sales and reception experience in a customer service environment is also good (preferably 2 years or more)
- You have strong oral and written communication skills.
- You have very strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- You are interested in being a part of a fastpaced, teamoriented workplace
- You are inspired by getting involved in a growing makerspace movement
