Position Summary


The Data Coordinator, Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program will work closely with the BMT Program team to maintain ongoing records of the cancer patient's diagnosis, therapy, transplant data as well as other data points as determined by the BMT program and other internal UHN groups (ie.

Finance, Decision Support) based on requirements by Cancer Care Ontario, the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and the Center for International Bone and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR).


The Coordinator has to:

Duties

  • Assure complete and accurate data are collected and maintained for all patients who are referred the institution.
  • Works with many departments in the hospital to ensure complete access to applicable data.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, a completion of a Bachelor's degree program, or recognized equivalent in Health or Science Related Discipline
  • At least two (2) year experience in Oncology, Clinical trials and/or medical terminology
  • Proficient in MS-Excel, MS-Office, Data Analysis, Database/Statistical Reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, prioritization skills, good computer skills, ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
