Manager of Facility Services - Caretaking (Janitorial)

Red Deer Public Schools is seeking an individual with exceptional leadership ability and proven managerial skills to join our Facility Services team.

Desirable qualifications:

Degree in Business/Management would be considered an asset
Extensive experience with a school division(s) and/or the public sector in a unionized environment
Proven leadership skills, exceptional communication and social skills
Advanced technology skills with an ability to easily learn new software
Ability to be a team player and a collaborative problem solver
Extensive experience in conducting meetings and engaging in difficult conversations when required

Responsibilities:

Build positive relationships with all district staff
With the help of the Assistant Manager, supervise all cleaning and custodial service employees in a unionized environment
Manage caretaking and substitute caretaking staff, including, training, scheduling, evaluations and disciplinary actions
Provide guidance in matters of custodial services, purchasing of custodial supplies and equipment, evaluation of cleaning chemicals, evaluate building materials for new construction or renovations and ensure Health and Safety compliance.
