Job description

Duties:


  • Complete employee data entry in accounting software including hires, rehires, expenses and change requests.
  • Respond to payroll related inquiries initiated by employees and operation.
  • Upload ROE for terminated employees in CRA portal and to CRA inquiries.
  • Assist with setup or updates on union rates, deductions and fringes.
  • Process weekly payroll as assigned
  • Assist with managing accounts and employee information to payroll paystub system (Instaff),
  • Assist with managing Manulife employee information and setup.
  • Perform monthly and yearend tasks as assigned (WCB, Pension and T4's).
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • University degree or Post secondary diploma in accounting.
  • 13 years of payroll & general accounting experience
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.
  • Experience with a Union environment is also an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficient computer skills, knowledge in excel and accounting software (Sage 300)
