The
Handyperson duties are directed by the Facility Department Supervisor, assuring a clean, safe, inviting environment for the residents of Shepherd Village; the safety and well-being of our residents, visitors and staff is of paramount importance in any task performed by members of the department.

The residents shall receive excellent care and services by increasing their comfort, independence and control in their lives and their involvement in all decisions.

You will support the family's and the community's involvement in their lives.

QUALIFICATIONS & DUTIES

13 years of experience with building operations required
Capable of lifting, moving, pushing & pulling heavy loads
Capable of operating various machinery and equipment safely
Promptly respond to calls for assistance, deliveries, small repair jobs, etc.
Good understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Act, regulations
Ability to follow and complete a daily, weekly & monthly task schedule
Able to accept and follow directions with mínimal supervision
Ability to speak, read & write English required
Build and maintain good working relationships with coworkers
Polite, understanding and cooperative with residents and their family members re: their housekeeping concerns, etc.
Carry out room set ups and break downs
Floor care, assist with resident moves
Varied work areas and duties as assigned
