The
Maintenance Manager plays a vital role leading our maintenance team supporting the repair efforts and PPM (
preventative maintenance) and various ongoing projects to achieve production operations goals.


Details


In collaboration with our Production, Warehouse and Engineering teams, the
Maintenance Manager plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the physical operations of the facility and production equipment as set out by Company requirements and in accordance with related Code(s) and Regulation(s) to maintain a safe working environment.


  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner
    Safety First:
  • Train and supervise maintenance staff.
  • Lead maintenance and repair of the establishment's machinery and equipment both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain and support the Preventive Maintenance program including schedules and procedures.
  • Coordinate and support general administration and services such as signage, cleaning, repairs, maintenance, IR electrical scans TSSA compliance, ESA compliance and PSHR approvals.
  • Ensure the maintenance team and contractors follow both internal policies, procedures and SOP's and adhere to external codes and regulations provide training as required.
- i.e. Scissor Lift and Fall Arrest certification, Forklift Certification, LOTO Training, Chemical Control, Contractor Orientation, Z432 Safeguarding of Machinery and CSA 460 Control of hazardous energy.

  • Create the scope and participate in annual reviews of external equipment maintenance contracts.
  • Work with key vendors to ensure optimal machinery performance.
  • Plan and manage the facility's maintenance team and maintenance contractors.
  • Ensure work is completed within approved maintenance budget and time frames.
  • Oversee and maintain maintenance shop and associated maintenance equipment.
  • Initiate and coordinate smaller capital projects from scope to completion and actively participate in other capital projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we're looking for
-
_ A Great Attitude_:


  • Proven handson leadership experience in a multitrade, industrial or related field in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical Millwright and/or Electrical experience.
  • Electrical, Mechanical and PLC experience (80% Mechanical / 20% Electrical).
  • Solid trouble shooting and able to work handson for repairs.
  • Handson leadership and be involved with the group during downtime emergencies.
  • Excellent understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles.
  • Excellent understanding of good housekeeping and safety.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Solid attention to detail and ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to present positive, respectful communication.
  • Basic computer proficiency e.g. with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Maintenance Management software (CMMS).
  • Schedule flexibility in working hours to be available when needed.

Asset

  • OHS knowledge.
  • Plastic manufacturing experience.
