Position Description:


  • Review customer RFP's, drawings, control documentation and other applicable specifications
  • Generate concept drawings, cost estimates and compliance documentation
  • Interact with the customer for the purpose of defining scope, obtaining specifications pertinent to the project and clarifying questions they may have with the proposal, if necessary, in conjunction with sales staff.
  • Interact with vendors concerning part and/or assembly quotations required for the estimate
  • Support sales to engineering kick off meetings to ensure a smooth transition of information.
  • Support engineering and production to ensure the intended scope is followed
  • Ability to review and resolve technical design issues during the manufacturing build stage.
  • Interpersonal and communication strengths, able to work individually and as part of a team
  • Able to work from home, remote work maybe required. A home office with computer and stable, unlimited, highspeed internet connection.
  • Experience with ZOOM Meetings and Chat
  • Adherence to company COVID policies.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum Five (5) years experience as an Applications / Estimator in custom automation, material handling or heavy industry or,
  • Minimum Seven (7) years experience as Senior designer of custom one off hydraulic and/or electromechanical systems
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technologist.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng), or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) considered an asset but not required
  • Solid Modeling skills (SolidWorks), AutoCAD 2D skills
  • Expert use of Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, Project
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills, sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents
  • Ability to write presentations and reports
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

  • No weekends

  • Grimsby, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • SolidWorks: 5 years (preferred)
Microsoft Office: 5 years (preferred)
- hydraulic and/or electro-mechanical systems: 7 years (preferred)
