    Job Overview

    Reports to: General Foreman, Field Service

    Shift: 7x7, 12-hour shifts

    Location: Sparwood, British Columbia

    Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

    Key Job Responsibilities

  • Perform Visual, UT, LP and Mag Particle inspections of rebuild components, including professional reporting of the results.
  • Perform audits for machine and component rebuilds.
  • Responsible for quality control inspection for machine overhauls, including labeling, inspecting and final reporting.
  • Coordinates, compiles, and files all documents from the various projects and ensures that all requirements of the Quality Control program are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates document and quality control to ensure quality assurance goals are maintained.
  • Assists in determining processes and process improvement.
  • Executes the inspection and signoff of projects and worksheets.
  • Documents processes to ensure overall project consistency.
  • Maintains relationships with third party inspectors.
  • Provides quality control updates at production meetings as required.
  • Complies with standards and procedures of the Joy Global Health and Safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

    • Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience with practical knowledge of supervising welding/fitting operations.
  • NDT CCGSB Level II Certification in UT, MP and LP or willingness to work toward that certification.
  • Possesses conversant knowledge of CWB requirements.
  • Journeyperson Welder Ticket considered an asset.
  • Possesses the ability to interpret engineering specifications.
  • Ability to provide accuracy and detail in projects and reports.
  • Possesses intermediate computer skills, specifically with MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and yet be independent and self-reliant when completing tasks.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative and is a proactive problem solver.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Demonstrates efficient organizational skills and the ability to thrive well in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
