**Intern in Environment Health and Safety / Biosafety**

Under the supervision of the Environment Health and Safety Director, the intern will be an integral part of the cross-functional team working on employee health and safety. This position is local to the Laval site.

For the summer of 2024, the intern's responsibilities will include:

- Participating in and conducting internal audits.
- Performing root cause analyses to thoroughly understand issues and identify effective solutions for the action plan.
- Contributing to the revision of various health and safety programs.
- Assisting in risk identification and analysis, as well as identifying improvement opportunities.
- Contributing to the development of safe work instructions.
- Participating in the review, enhancement, and documentation of various health and safety processes, procedures, and communication tools.
- Supporting the organization in chemical and biological management.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in a health and safety university program.
- Familiarity with Quebec's occupational health and safety legislation.
- Knowledge of Canada's biosafety legislation.
- Understanding of microbiology best practices.
- Experience in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory.

**Skills**:

- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrates curiosity, creativity, autonomy, and proactivity.
- Resilience and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Positive attitude and openness to learning.

**Contract Duration**: 3 months (summer 2024) with a start date no later than May 13, 2024.

**Stagiaire en Environnement Santé-Sécurité / Biosécurité**

Sous la responsabilité de la directrice environnement santé-sécurité, le ou la stagiaire fera partie intégrante de l'équipe matricielle qui travaille à la santé-sécurité des employés. Cette position est locale au site de Laval.

Pour l'été 2024, le ou la stagiaire aura pour responsabilités:

- Participer et réaliser des audits internes
- Procéder à des analyses de causes racines pour bien comprendre les problématiques et identifier les bonnes solutions pour le plan d'action
- Participer à la révision des différents programmes de santé-sécurité
- Participer à l'identification et l'analyse des risques ainsi qu'à l'identification des opportunités d'améliorations
- Participer à l'élaboration d'instruction de travail sécuritaire
- Participer à la révision, à l'amélioration et à la documentation des différents processus, procédures et outils de communication en matière de santé et sécurité
- Accompagne l'organisation dans la gestion des chimiques et biologiques

Qualifications:

- Être inscrit à un programme en santé-sécurité
- Connaissance de la législation SST du Québec
- Connaissance de la législation en Biosécurité du Canada
- Connaissance des bonnes pratiques de Microbiologie
- Expérience en laboratoire de NC-2

Compétences:

- Compétences informatiques de base (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Compétence en communication interpersonnelles, verbale et écrite
- Faire preuve de curiosité et de créativité, autonomie et proactivité
- Résilience, Adaptabilité aux priorités
- Attitudes positive et ouverture à l'apprentissage

Durée du contrat : 3 mois (été 2024) avec un début le plus tard au 13 Mai 2024
