Executive Chef
Oyeo's Kitchen is a small, fast-casual restaurant with a focus on fresh, local ingredients and a casual, fun atmosphere.

We are looking for an Executive Chef to lead our team and set the table for our food and service to our guests.


Requirements:


  • At least 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a highvolume environment.
  • Strong food knowledge and creativity.
  • Ability to manage kitchen staff and coordinate schedules for all shifts.
  • Ability to create menus that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Experience with POS systems (e.g., Cooky, Open Table).
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment and be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to manage conflicts and have strong problemsolving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends when needed.
  • Vancouver, BC Citizenship Required (for now)

Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate the daily schedule of all kitchen staff members based on restaurant schedule, food orders, labor costs, etc.
  • Ensure that all employees adhere to food safety practices and procedures.
  • Train new kitchen staff members on the operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen area including taking responsibility for ensuring that dishes are clean before they are served. Ensuring that the kitchen is fully stocked at all times. Maintaining inventory levels by purchasing all needed kitchen supplies. Complying with sanitation regulations and procedures at all times. Managing conflicts between employees and management as well as provide constructive feedback when needed.

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract, Freelance

Part-time hours: 10 per week


Salary:
From $21.00 per hour


Supplemental pay types:

  • Signing bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vancouver, BC V6A 3K8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:


  • Cooking: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (preferred)
