Responsibilities:

• Ensure project timelines assigned by the foreman/management are completed
• Develop shop and erection drawings for miscellaneous and structural steel using modeling and drafting
• Comply with requirements of the design drawings and with CISC standards and CWB codes
• Provide technical clarifications to shop personnel to support their work and prevent costly interruption due to lack of information
• Produce steel building layouts with input from structural and architectural contract drawings
• Respond to any requests for changes by the client and work with the Project Manager, Fabrication and Installation Teams in troubleshooting throughout the Project.
• Review all drawings and sketches received from clients, architects, interior designers, and contractors to ensure thorough understanding of the client's needs
• Obtain all necessary information to effectively detail complete drawing sets

Requirements:

• Ability to work in Fastpaced environment.
• Ability to perform Repetitive tasks over longer periods of time
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
• Basic understanding of industry standard installation guidelines
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Experience in commercial construction an asset
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
• Will be interviewed and required to perform a test
• A Certified Engineering Technologist or equivalent designation will be viewed favorably.
• Experience: 2 years to 5 years in structural steel, Misc. Metals & in all types of roof and wall systems
