To be successful as our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care, you will:

Have a current registration as a Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Maintain current Heart Save Level of CPR
Act as a Specialist Leader pertaining to all aspects of infection prevention and control
Support the delivery of IPAC education to all team members, caregivers, volunteers, students, visitors, and residents
Understand the IPAC protocol and maintain up to date knowledge of the regulations specific to infection control
Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role

It would be an asset if our new Assistant Director of Nursing Care has:

Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and Health & Safety
Three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting
Education and Experience in IPAC practices including: infectious disease, cleaning, disinfecting, data collection, trend analysis, outbreak management, reporting protocol, asepsis, microbiology, epidemiology, program management & adult education
Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting
