To be successful as our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care, you will:

  • Have a current registration as a Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Maintain current Heart Save Level of CPR
  • Act as a Specialist Leader pertaining to all aspects of infection prevention and control
  • Support the delivery of IPAC education to all team members, caregivers, volunteers, students, visitors, and residents
  • Understand the IPAC protocol and maintain up to date knowledge of the regulations specific to infection control
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role

It would be an asset if our new Assistant Director of Nursing Care has:

  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and Health & Safety
  • Three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting
  • Education and Experience in IPAC practices including: infectious disease, cleaning, disinfecting, data collection, trend analysis, outbreak management, reporting protocol, asepsis, microbiology, epidemiology, program management & adult education
  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting

Licenses & Certifications:
Required

  • Reg'd Pr Nurse
  • CNO Reg
