Your Opportunity:

This position works primarily for the ENT clinic. There may be opportunity to support other clinical areas within the KEC as needed. Working within a multidisciplinary team, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Duties include cleaning and stocking patient rooms, maintaining clinic supply cart, cleaning equipment as per protocol, taking samples to lab, pharmacy deliveries, transporting patients, assisting with patient rooming and other support as required.

Position is physically demanding at times and ability to work in fast paced environment is essential.


Description:


As a Service Worker I, you may transport patients (clients, residents) and equipment to and from different units as well as distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units.

You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, patient charts, and clean patient care equipment. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Able to push, pull, lift and move office equipment and supplies. Able to push patients in wheelchairs during transport. Physically fit, ability to clean below, at or above waist and shoulder level. Able to stand for long periods of time, walking long distances between site buildings. Ability to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate respect in the workplace towards staff and the diverse population. Self-direction for organizing daily activities and the ability to triage clinic needs in a high-volume setting. Current CPR.


Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in an ambulatory clinic setting preferred.
