We are currently seeking a Commercial Underwriter to join our department. Reporting to the Director of the Department.

This position is 100 % remote work from the Calgary area, with the opportunity to connect with other local colleagues also working from home.

More specifically, your responsibilities will be to:

Underwriting new business, respecting the insurer's delegation of authority
Analyze the quotes received and rate them
Prepare renewal offers and endorsements
Contact brokers to establish new business streams and/or solidify existing contacts

This job is yours if you have:

3 years of Underwriting Experience
Knowledge of some combination of: Residential, Realty, Manufacturing, Wholesaling, Construction, Professional Lines (Miscellaneous E&O, Med Mal), General Property and CGL, and Transportation underwriting.
Great ease with Outlook, Word and Excel tools
Excellent oral and written communication
Customer care experience
