Your Opportunity:


As a nuclear medicine technologist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), you will be trained to perform a variety of exams on multiple nuclear medicine cameras including diagnostic SPECT/CT.

You will train to work all areas of PET/CT performing a majority of FDG exams but also emerging tracers such as PSMA being used in clinical trials.

At RAH, there is broad diversity in patients referred, from emergency, inpatients and outpatients.

The ability to work as a team is critical to operational success as well as being able to work independently as there is an on-call component to the position.


Description:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine nuclear medicine procedures for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.

You will perform Nuclear Medicine procedures as described in the department procedure manual using a wide range of equipment such as gamma cameras, computers, ECG monitors, cardiac stress equipment, and radiation safety devices.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Strong organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Ability to assume responsibility, to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure. Demonstrates initiative, good judgement, positive attitude and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability in the use of tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and physicians.
