    Job Overview

    Under the supervision of the Senior Consultant, Labour Relations (LR), the Consultant, Labour Relations will be part of a dynamic team with members located in Quebec and Ontario, supporting internal operational teams on various aspects related to the interpretation and application of the Company's collective agreements, policies and guidelines. The consultant will also support internal clients in matters of work attendance, disciplinary measures and performance management. In addition, they will be called upon to contribute to various Labour Relations team projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide support to all operations managers on human resources management issues by promoting best practices.
    • Advise and support managers on the management of work attendance, trial periods, performance management, performance plans, accommodation requests and the application of collective agreements. Advise managers on the disciplinary process, including the drafting and follow-up of measures.
    • Manage grievances. Prepare and follow up grievance files and meetings through to settlement or prepare representation for arbitration.
    • Participate in various LR-related meetings and committees with various stakeholders at all levels.
    • Ensure compliance with various collective agreement clauses and processes (reclassifications, job postings, etc.).
    • Work collaboratively in a team environment with colleagues and various operational teams.
    • In collaboration with the HR team, communicate and manage change, present procedures and policies, and ensure the dissemination of organizational information related to human resources management to internal clients.
    • Work on various special HR-related projects with the LR team.

    Critical Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree with concentration in human resources management or industrial relations, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience in the human resources field;
    • Experience working for a unionized company;
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including excellent command of Excel spreadsheets and Powerpoint presentation techniques;
    • Strategic and creative approach
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, high attention to detail and accuracy;
    • Interest in process improvement and optimization (asset)
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • Ability to work and interact with people at different hierarchical levels, including the union;
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
    • Excellent organizational skills, autonomy and ability to manage priorities;
    • Experience in project coordination
    • Professional rigor;
    • Discretion and ability to protect confidentiality.
    • Bilingualism required in French and English (spoken and written): as part of their duties, this person will be required to interact in English with stakeholders outside Quebec.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and the Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases;
    • Experience in CNESST file management (an asset)
    • Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP, CRHA, CRIA) or ORHRI candidate (an asset)
