We are seeking a Technical Support Student to join our team for 8-12 months starting in May 2023. This role will have positions available throughout in Winnipeg and Edmonton.

What You'll Be Working On


Our internships, co-ops, and summer terms are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor.

We'll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.

  • Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and moderately complex level one troubleshooting and repair activities, typically associated with an enduser environment, including but not limited to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, desk phones, and printers.
  • Fulfil service requests such as granting network drive access, administration of distribution lists, creation/modification/disabling accounts, fulfilling software requests, etc.
  • Install, and troubleshoot end user printers.
  • Meet established customer service satisfaction levels and other operational/customer service metrics as outlined in established guidelines.
  • Understand and follow all documented service operations policies and procedures.
  • Document processes, procedures, and Knowledge Base articles.
  • Work in a large team environment, supporting and assisting peers.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements to procedures.
  • Participate in the evaluation/implementation of ITIL bestpractice operational processes.
  • Maintain an inventory of installed hardware and software.
  • Who We Need On Our Team
  • You are currently enrolled in Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or equivalent program, and will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently

  • Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
  • If you are selected for a role in a safetysensitive position, you will be required to successfully complete a Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug tests
