ROLE PURPOSE

The Manager of Communications & Engagement will support in the development and implementation of strategic communications and engagement initiatives, create compelling content for various audiences, and provide direct support to the Communications & Engagement team.


STATUS
Exempt Hybrid Position. This position is open to applicants of all genders.


HOURS
Monday to Friday, , 40 hours per week
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours based on operational needs.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Supports in the development of Connective's communications and engagement initiatives and goals, and the delivery of required activities across internal and external channels
  • Develops, researches, oversees, and implements plans and operations that advance Connective's strategic communications and engagement goals
  • Develops and implements communications, engagement, and branding strategies for the organization and specific programs
  • Provides direct support and leadership to members of the Communications & Engagement team
  • Plans, manages, and contributes to the development and distribution of materials internally or externally that explain or convey the organization's brand, work, or position on key issues
  • Supports the development of the organization's community engagement, public relations, and media engagement strategies, including goals, metrics, and KPIs to ensure ongoing success
  • Develops communication milestones, and improves processes and engagement satisfaction and impact
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve engagement and communication across campaigns and channels
  • Works directly with stakeholders to identify deliverables and deadlines, communicate expectations and ensure results
  • Prepares progress reports and presentations

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A degree and/or professional designation in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline or relevant transferable past work experience
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in developing communications and/or marketing strategies, public relations, writing and publishing
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience, which involved supervising multiple employees and interacting with crossfunctional teams, or a similar position with related attributes and transferable skills
  • Experience in community engagement, working with, and listening to communities to build relationships, develop trust, and achieve sustainable outcomes and equitable processes
  • Strong communication skills, including impeccable English grammar and editing skills
  • Experience with the communication and management of sensitive community issues and the ability to navigate challenging situations
  • Experience in creating and publishing written and visual content for traditional and digital communication channels
  • Experience managing digital communications platforms, including social media and website administration
  • Experience creating accessible content, training, and marketing materials
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadlinedriven environment and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent time and project management skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner (written and verbal)
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Sensitivity to the political and cultural environment of international public agencies or similarly complex environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with team members, clients, partners, and stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to successfully pass a reference check
  • Ability to travel regularly within the province
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proof of COVID19 vaccination
  • Access to personal transportation that is in good repair

COMPENSATION
Annual Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This role will also be eligible for the Society's comprehensive Management Benefits Package.
