    What you will do


    Specialty Pharma Nurse (SPN), under the direction of the Specialty Pharma Supervisor and/or Regional Specialty Pharma Manager, delivers and monitors specialized infusion or injectable pharmacological treatments in clinic setting.

    The infusion nurse is responsible for monitoring the client for infusion related reactions (intervening as required), accurately documenting the procedure, and submitting reporting in a timely manner.

    is expected to maintain effective communication with the Specialty Nursing Supervisor to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Specialized pharmacological training will be provided.


    • Obtain IV access through peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.)
    • Conduct patient health assessments and medication administration teaching
    • Prepare and administer specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments
    • Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and provincial body standards
    • Provide patient centered care according to the established care plan or medical directive in clinical setting
    • Provide peripheral intravenous administration skills (e.g., PIVs, CVADs and PICCs)
    • Work independently in clinical setting
    • Oncology certification or other specialized certifications will be seen as an asset
    • Manage relationships utilizing a proven track record of exceptional customer service skills
    • Read and interpret technical instructions related to client care with ability to transcribe physician's orders
    Job Qualification

    Who You Are

    You have a desire to help improve the lives of those in your community

    You are dedicated to providing high-quality care services to clients and knowledge of practices and methods of community care

    You are a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and hold a current Nursing license in good standing within your province

    You have at least 2 years Nursing experience, preferably in a critical care (e.g., ER or ICU), infusion clinic, or oncology setting

    You have a solid venipuncture skills and experience in IV/ IM/SC medication administration

    You have previous oncology work experience will be seen as an asset

    You have a current BLS certificate with ACLS an asset (training can be provided)

    You have a reliable mode of transportation

    You have a clear Vulnerable Sector Screening Check or are willing to provide

    Bayshore is in accordance with provincial Accessibility regulations as well as Provincial Human Rights Code legislation.

    Education


    RN level Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, preferably with a BSN degree, with current registration in good standing, with the applicable provincial licensing body.

    Current ACLS and CPR certification.

    Experience

    Min 3 years experience in critical care, infusion or oncology setting.

    Exceptional peripheral intravenous administration skills, (e.g., PIVs, CVADs and PICCs);


    Other:
    Valid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable vehicle required.
