Position Summary
We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor based at our Mississauga location.


This role will be responsible for promoting and ensuring the Health & Safety of all operators, and compliance with all GMP's and Food Safety programs, making sure all quantitative and qualitative measures in the operating plan are met including those related to line reliability, labour utilization, resource optimization and losses.

The role addresses issues and upgrades that will make the system more efficient.

Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with the DC team to manage inventory levels and variances, marinating high customer service and efficiency levels.


A day in the life of a Warehouse Supervisor:

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be supervising all aspects of the Warehouse Department including scheduling, coaching, and training warehouse personnel and to develop a culture of trust and to cultivate the best by inspiring, challenging and promoting our workforce.


You will:


  • Monitor all administration control for all shipping and receiving activities, monitor inventory accuracy and maintain FEFO adherence
  • Supervise the movement of all goods

External:
carrier selection, load planning, and cost/benefit analysis


Internal:
space planning, equipment and resource management

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with Distribution Centres, Logistics, carriers and suppliers
  • Promote and enhance a positive Labourmanagement relationship including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement
  • Develop, identify, implement and actively participate in the continuous process development to improvement initiatives towards achieving operating plan objectives
  • Coordinate with all Departments to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency of the operation
  • Initiate process improvements by coaching the warehouse group to identify potential savings and assist with their implementation, deliver effective training and performance management, discipline adherence and grievance resolutions to the unionized warehouse workforce
  • Responsible for ensuring the allocation of regular and overtime hours, and appropriate vacation coverage
  • Responsible for all investigations and root cause analysis related to warehouse incidents
  • Monitor, communicate and enforce personal safety and facility protection procedure ensuring compliance with all government legislations
  • Provide direction to the Buyer to ensure the facility maintains an efficient inventory level to meet requirements, validate materials usage transactions and associated variances
  • Continually monitor existing processes and procedures in order to implement improvements
  • Responsible for biweekly payroll for union employees, while adhering to the collective agreement.

What will make you successful?

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Supervisor in warehouse operations, preferably within a unionized environment
  • Completion of Community College Diploma or University Degree in a related field
  • Strong computer skills, working knowledge of SAP, intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power point
  • Payroll Kronos experience
  • Ability to respond to changing demands with short notice, and be proactive in managing the needs of operation
  • Demonstrated problemsolving and leadership skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to excel at working within a team environment
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail with strong initiative, customer service focused attributes
  • Excellent prioritization and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment.
