- Participation in business development opportunities including lead and support to proposals and business development efforts
- Project and proposal coordination between other design disciplines, management of project and opportunity schedule and budget
- Management of assigned project staff, including allocation of staff resources, delegating, scheduling, and prioritizing of staff workloads and developing, mentoring, and coaching others
- Preparation of functional study, preliminary design and detailed engineering design drawings, contract documents and engineering specifications
- Development, coordination and preparation of design drawings, graphics and contract documents for Municipal roadway and Transportation Engineering projects
- Track project budgets and prepare invoicing on a monthly basis
- Serve as a focal point for all project-related communication with clients to ensure constant and consistent professional service delivery
- Review and evaluation of technical work
- Participation in quality assurance and quality control activities
- Fostering a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus
- Bachelor's University Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta
- 7 – 9+ years of Transportation Engineering experience in the consulting services industry including roles with management and business development responsibilities
- Experience with all aspects of preliminary and detailed design of local collector, and arterial roads, (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety), and municipal services design
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D an asset
- Demonstrated strong leadership and project management skills
- Proven management record in multi-disciplinary environments
- Familiar with construction project managemetn and preparation of reports
- Experience in the City of Edmonton and area is an asset
- Ability to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients
- Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills are expected
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high-quality work
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; and
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplined team, both as a team member and as a leader
