    We are currently seeking a talented Project Manager - Transportation Engineering & Planning to join our established and growing team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Transportation Planning and Engineering design and will work on a wide range of municipal / transportation projects for public sector clients. The successful candidate will be an effective leader who can successfully motivate and manage projects which are shaping the communities in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

    This opportunity will include Project Management and Civil Design leadership for civil infrastructure projects of varying scale and complexity.

    Role Accountabilities:

    • Participation in business development opportunities including lead and support to proposals and business development efforts
    • Project and proposal coordination between other design disciplines, management of project and opportunity schedule and budget
    • Management of assigned project staff, including allocation of staff resources, delegating, scheduling, and prioritizing of staff workloads and developing, mentoring, and coaching others
    • Preparation of functional study, preliminary design and detailed engineering design drawings, contract documents and engineering specifications
    • Development, coordination and preparation of design drawings, graphics and contract documents for Municipal roadway and Transportation Engineering projects
    • Track project budgets and prepare invoicing on a monthly basis
    • Serve as a focal point for all project-related communication with clients to ensure constant and consistent professional service delivery
    • Review and evaluation of technical work
    • Participation in quality assurance and quality control activities
    • Fostering a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's University Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college
    • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta
    • 7 – 9+ years of Transportation Engineering experience in the consulting services industry including roles with management and business development responsibilities
    • Experience with all aspects of preliminary and detailed design of local collector, and arterial roads, (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety), and municipal services design
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D an asset
    • Demonstrated strong leadership and project management skills
    • Proven management record in multi-disciplinary environments
    • Familiar with construction project managemetn and preparation of reports
    • Experience in the City of Edmonton and area is an asset
    • Ability to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients
    • Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills are expected
    • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
    • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high-quality work
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; and
    • Ability to work with a multi-disciplined team, both as a team member and as a leader
