Location

  • WindsorThe City Operations Manager is responsible for managing the efficient flow of house operations including maintenance and programming while coordinating all casework efforts. The City Operations Manager will regularly execute outreach and funding efforts to ensure visibility with donors and community partners.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:


HOUSE MANAGEMENT

  • Facility Maintenance
  • Ensure house is operating in safe working condition at all times
  • Coordinate all maintenance requests such as plumbing, HVAC, electricity, paint or landscaping
  • Liaise with external contractors for services and maintenance of the house, including: movers, cleaners, lawn services and shoveling
  • Regularly updates list of service providers for maintenance work
Supplies, Inventory and Donation Management

  • Ensure adequate inventory of donations, groceries, toiletries and household item and keeps running log of all items
  • Coordinate with potential donors to ensure all donations are appropriate
  • Sort through donations and ensure proper label, storage and inventory of items
Programming

  • Organize inhouse activities and programming to support the needs of the clients including life skills, art therapy, budgeting workshops, etc.
  • Supervise, manage and train volunteers/placement students and assign them to the responsibility of staff

CASEWORK MANAGEMENT

  • Provide coordinated case management with internal and external resources, including appropriate referrals, and advocacy
  • Provide training, ongoing management, guidance and support to caseworkers;
  • Oversee chore assignment, completion and room inspections
  • Coordinate and attend weekly staff meetings with all caseworkers to discuss client progress, collectively plan how to move forward with difficult cases and provide a space to share ideas

OUTREACH

  • Develop positive relationships with various community partners including Police, CAS and masajid
  • Maintain current knowledge of issues and resources related to abuse and violence to provide presentations and public awareness activities about services and issues of abuse
  • Facilitate community networking, attend meetings and workshops as needed
  • Research opportunities for funding
  • Collaborate and communicate with other programs and external partners of the organization, and maintain a database of local resources and services

ADMINISTRATIVE & REPORTING

  • Submit monthly financial reporting forms
  • Attend all employment related trainings/meetings
  • Promptly respond to all intake phone calls

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Degree or Diploma in a related human/social service field such as Social Work or Child and Youth Care Work and three (3) years management experience. Or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and legislation
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate required
  • Clear Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance
  • Access to a reliable vehicle an asset
  • Be aware of personal triggers and be willing to work on personal wellness
  • Awareness of stresses of position and follow an action plan for selfcare
  • Respect clients right to their own values, beliefs, culture and choice
  • Use empathy and a client centered approach when working with the women and children
  • Understanding of the cycle of abuse, the misuse and abuse of power and control
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of social issues which effect women
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of social services policies and practices
  • Knowledge of criminal and family justice systems
