    Description:

    The Northern Health Region is currently seeking a full-timePsychiatristto practice in a multidisciplinary environment in The Pas, Manitoba. The Northern Health Region is geographically the largest of the five Regional Health Authorities in the province of Manitoba and has a population of 72,000 people spread over 396,000 km , resulting in a population density of 0.18 persons per km . Mining, hydro-electric development, forestry, commercial fishing, trapping, transportation and tourism are the major industries in the Region.

    Qualifications:

    -Must be eligible for fulllicensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba.

    Candidates with Royal College Certification are preferred.

    Practice Ready Assessment (PRA-SP) eligible candidates who have secured provisional registration from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba may be considered.

    Compensation:

    Generous remunerationin accordance with the Specialists Independent Contractor Agreement and On-Call Specialist Agreement.

    Practice Location:

    This position is based out of St. Anthony's Hospital in the Town of The Pas which is located 600 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg and is known as "Adventure Territory" with many seasonal outdoor activities to enjoy year round. Home of the Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival, this town of 5,500 also services residents living in the adjacent Opaskwayak Cree Nation. OCN is an active and vibrant community that has much to offer its approximately 4,500 residents of Cree descent. OCN has many organizations with people involved in activities that reflect its cultural values and heritage. There are also family events that take place at OCN including youth programs, recreation, aboriginal culture camps, fishing derbies, arts and crafts, and various other festivals throughout the year.
