Job Duties
- Effectively supervise traffic control at worksites within the abilities and experience of the training provided
- Must be trained in Traffic Control Supervisor responsibilities and Supervisor Legal responsibilities, Accident/Incident Investigations, Worksite Safety Inspections, Hazard/Risk Assessments, and other related or required programs
- Ensure our clients are provided with the very best traffic control service to protect workers, the general public and our employees
- Ensure traffic control capabilities meet or exceed requirements for quality, delivery, safety and responsiveness
- Comply with all Acts, Regulations, Standards, Guidelines, Policies and Procedures for health and safety
- Ensure that road/lane closures are set up and installed as per a Traffic Management Plan provided by the company or by the client
- Attend health and safety toolbox/tailgate meetings as required to discuss matters related to the work site and work to be conducted
- Participate in accident/incident investigations as required to ensure the compliance with investigative policies and procedures
- Complete required forms and reports as required for due diligence and for compliance with Acts, Regulations, Standards, Guidelines, Policies and Procedures
- Report directly to the Site Supervisor and take direction from them for traffic control set up and safety for the job site
- Report to Operations Manager or Health and Safety Manager any health and safety matters, noncompliance issues, or conflicts with any company employee or direction from the Contractor
- Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Health and Safety Manager immediately, conduct investigations and complete required reports for accidents/incidents and near misses, as well as other required reports and forms
- Must wear all personal protective equipment at all times as required by WorkSafeBC Regulations, and as required by Pedre
- Must use all required personal traffic control equipment for work in low visibility or night work, such as a flashlight with a red signaling wand
- Must use proper protocol procedures when using two way radios, and not use profane or vulgar language
- Responsible for ensuring that your Traffic Control Person certificate and Lane Closure Technician certificate is always maintained to be current and valid
- Must attend all training programs as required by the Company and participate as required
Qualification Requirements
- Qualified Traffic Control Person for a minimum of 5 years as per the WorkSafeBC Regulation for traffic control, and hold a current/valid BCCSA certificate
- Qualified Lane Technician for a minimum of 5years and have successfully completed the Lane Closure Technician Course
- Good knowledge and understanding of the WorkSafeBC Regulations for Traffic Control, Section 1
- Knowledge and understanding of the WCB Act, sections , General Duties
- Knowledge and understanding of Traffic Management Plans and the Traffic Control Manual for Work on Roadways as developed by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
- Knowledge of the requirements of the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations related to traffic control
- Must hold a valid and current BC Drivers' License and have a good driving record
- Must provide a Driver's Abstract from the BC Motor Vehicle Branch as requested by the company

- Continuously learn new tasks within the company.
- Should be able to receive instructions and be left alone to complete the task in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure the quality of each task meets or exceeds requirements
- Clearly understand the job description and perform their responsibilities adequately.
