About the RoleOur manufacturing client is looking for a Senior Accountant.
Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you will play a key role in end‑to‑end accounting operations while supporting financial reporting and analytical requirements.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, collaborative, and eager to contribute to continuous process improvement.This role offers a defined career advancement path - the successful candidate will be positioned to grow into a Controller role within approximately 1-2 years.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and execute full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, GL, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
Conduct financial analysis and prepare reports to support management decision-making
Perform cost and variance analysis and deliver actionable insights
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
Manage government remittances (HST/GST, payroll tax filings, and other statutory requirements)
Support external auditors during year-end audits
Maintain and enhance accounting processes and internal controls
Utilize ERP systems and advanced Excel tools for reporting, analysis, and data management
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years' experience in full‑cycle accounting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
Strong working knowledge of accounting ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis)
Experience with cost accounting and variance analysis
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally
CPA designation or ongoing CPA studies is considered an asset
