Position Summary:


As a key member of the executive team and under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Regional Vice President, Operations - BC Metro is responsible for developing and implementing both short and long-term tactical and strategic plans in accordance with business goals and objectives.

This position helps to drive and grow Great Canadian's business in an efficient and effective manner by providing guidance and strategy to operational teams.

The Regional Vice President, Operations - BC Metro will be directly responsible for the leadership and management of the Company's operations in a defined region, including site operations and various support services.


As the Regional Vice President, Operations - BC Metro, this role ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example; and fosters a culture of learning & development while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

This role is based out in Coquitlam, BC.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to provide leadership, operational expertise and strategic direction to the organization and all operational teams
  • Develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Develops and controls annual budget and longterm financial plans, as well as oversees the operation of all functions within the defined region to ensure budgets, policies and procedures are being consistently followed and maintained
  • Responsible for profit and loss (P&L) for all properties within the defined region
  • Creates, directs and supports efforts by leveraging innovative ideas, technology and resources to maximize revenue
  • Executes on enterprise talent to develop and build bench strength
  • Identifies and evaluates risks to the Company, both internal and external
  • Monitors Company performance against established goals
  • Provides leadership for strategic business development
  • Sets strategic objectives for the defined region and ensures that planning initiatives are implemented to maximize strategic growth
  • Stays current on latest developments in best practices and related regulatory requirements in order to advise the business how to manage the associated risks in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Maintains an ongoing awareness of competitors, ensuring the Company is a competitive player in the marketplace
  • Provides senior level leadership through the execution of strategic initiatives with concise and detailed communication
  • Responsible for proactively managing and maintaining strong and effective working relationships by liaising and communicating with all operational teams, applicable regulatory bodies and provincial partners
  • Liaises and communicates proactively and effectively with executives, board members and all appropriate operations within the defined region
  • Manages other initiatives as required or as directed by the Chief Operating Officer within the scope of responsibilities and capabilities of the position
  • Champions and participates in events for the Company's PROUD program
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders; guests, management and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages other initiatives as required

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years diversified business experience with at least five recent years in a senior role in a customer centric and client services enterprise
  • Demonstrated experience with all levels of business; ability to act as a business partner to the CEO and COO
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse workforce to achieve common objectives, within a complex reporting structure
  • Proven astute financial experience required
  • Change management experience (acquisitions, downsizing, new lines of business, new technology implementation) an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to grasp complex concepts quickly re
