We are looking for a bilingual Legal Counsel, with 4-5 years of experience in corporate, commercial law, compliance and data privacy.

Reporting to Katie, our Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and reviewing various legal documents and contracts (such as leases, commercial agreements, software licenses, etc.).

You will play a key role in conducting research and evaluating risk factors regarding business decisions and operations, while providing legal advice to support our teams in all lines of business.

You will also be responsible for handling various corporate matters such as the maintenance of legal entities and the oversight of insurance policies and bonds.

Finally, you will work closely with all business units to ensure that we provide a transparent experience to our customers that is compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements, while also ensuring that our customers' data security and privacy rights remain a top priority.

Many career paths can prepare you for this life-changing opportunity, but preferably, you're highly skilled in:

  • Identifying business and legal risk issues;
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance through monthly audit and monitoring across departments;
  • Supporting the Senior Legal Counsel and management in drafting different organizational procedures and policies for the organization;
  • Reviewing an extensive range of commercial contracts, including software contracts, data protection agreements, license agreements, contracts with airlines, leases, etc.;
  • Collaborating with the Customer Service team to manage all legal consumer complaints (including filing defenses in small claims courts across Canada and the United States, negotiating settlements with customers, etc.);
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to businesses both in Quebec and the United States;
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy laws in the Canada, the U.S. and Europe (i.e., Bill 25, PIPEDA, CASL, CCPA, CPRA and GDPR);
  • Advising on corporate law and corporate governance matters;
  • Demonstrating initiative, proactiveness, flexibility, with excellent communication and writing skills in both English and French;
  • Experience working within the travel industry, ecommerce or IT industry is considered a strong asset;
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec or Ontario Bar.

Nous recherchons un(e) conseiller(e) juridique bilingue, avec 4 à 5 ans d'expérience dans le domaine du droit des sociétés, du droit commercial, de la conformité et de la confidentialité des données.

Sous la responsabilité de Katie, notre conseillère juridique principale, vous serez chargé(e) de négocier, de rédiger et d'examiner divers documents et contrats juridiques (tels que des baux, des accords commerciaux, des licences de logiciels, etc.

Vous jouerez un rôle clé dans la recherche et l'évaluation des facteurs de risque concernant les décisions et les opérations commerciales, tout en fournissant des conseils juridiques pour soutenir nos équipes dans tous les secteurs d'activité.

Vous serez également chargé(e) de traiter diverses questions relatives à l'entreprise, telles que la gestion des entités juridiques et la surveillance des polices d'assurance et des cautions.
