Summary:


Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator assists and supports the Project Manager on a variety of jobs related to construction or repair of heavy-civil infrastructure projects.

In this role, you will assist in overall planning and coordination of construction activities and focus on the project scope to ensure completion within budget and on time.

This role also supports the Superintendent by monitoring the performance of vendors, subcontractors, and field staff.

As a Project Coordinator, You Will:

  • Assist with overall project performance including forecast, costs, schedule, and quality
  • Maintain and promote excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and public
  • Manage change order processes, including pricing, negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact
  • Complete progress payment certificates, subcontractor payments and all extra work orders as per the contract
  • Adhere to the Miller Group's Policy and Procedure Manual and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other regulations for construction projects
  • Assist in planning, preparing and updating work schedules and executing construction activities including supervision of crews and related equipment
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control activities on the project site and ensure adherence to contract requirements
  • Maintain plans, specifications, cost and materials estimates, subcontracts, reports etc. and ensure latest issues are distributed as required
  • Coordinate procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery of accurate materials and equipment
  • Ensure project cost requirements are met and coding procedures are followed
  • Assist with estimation and bidding efforts
  • Adhere to COR Guidelines and follow industry best practices to ensure a safe work environment
  • Oversee all facets of project closeout, including documents archiving, maintenance/ warranty manuals etc.

What You Will Bring;:


  • A Civil Engineering degree or technical college diploma/degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • 5 years' relevant experience as a Filed Coordinator or equivalent role within the heavy civil construction industry is required
  • Ability to interpret project drawings and specifications
  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals and objectives
  • Attention to details and superior organization skills to work well with shifting priorities and rapid change
  • Strong ability to work with a highly functional team
  • Good communication skills both spoken and written to present data and reports to stakeholders at various levels
  • Valid Class G driver's license and clean driving record. Willingness to work occasional weekends and evening shifts as the project schedule demands
  • Excellent Microsoft Outlook, MS Word and Excel skills. Experience with MS Project and/or Primavera
