The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq. It provides all health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik. It serves seven Inuit communities with as many CLSCs, a seniors' center and a hospital in Kuujjuaq.


It employs approximately 1,000 employees:
administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, casual employees, etc.

The communities of Nunavik are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. This climate results in permafrost and does not allow for any agriculture. Nunavik is the largest region covering approximately one third of the total area of Quebec.

There are no road links between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, nor between the communities of Nunavik themselves.

Access to the region and its communities is only by air and sea.


FUNCTIONS


Under the authority of the Assistant Director of Human Resources and in close collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Hospital Services and the managers of his department, the Management Consultant in Staffing and Manpower Planning (MPP) of Nursing has as main mandate the optimization of activities related to all the process of the recruitment, including internal transfers of nursing personnel.

He will be responsible for representing Tulattavik Nursing and certain sectors of the Hospital Services Department, such as the laboratory and radiology departments, during visits to CEGEPs, universities, conferences, etc.

He provides leadership in a context of change and continuous improvement.

He is responsible for coordinating the promotion activities of the UTHC, ensuring the flow of hiring and staffing process and proactively planning for the needs of the nursing workforce.

He implements high quality, optimized and efficient services and shares decision-making authority and accountability with his supervisor for the results expected by management.

He supports and collaborates with several partners in his efforts to achieve organizational objectives.

This position acts as an advisor to management personnel in his field of expertise, while assuming responsibility for compliance with internal policies and procedures, collective agreements, local provisions and agreements signed, and labour laws in force.

B:
Must be willing to travel regularly in Quebec, including occasional trips to Nunavik. Perdiems reimbursed as provided by the health network when you have to travel.


Qualifications

Academic requirements:
Ø DEC or Bachelor's degree in Nursing;
Ø University degree in administration or a related field will be considered a major asset.


Experience requirements:
Ø At least five (5) years of relevant experience in nursing, preferably in the health and social services network;
Ø Experience as a nurse in an expanded role will be considered a major asset;

Other requirements:
Ø Dynamic bilingual communicator (French and English or Inuktitut)

Ø Judgment, discernment and tact

Ø Ability to convey information to a diverse audience

Ø Ability to analyze and synthesize information

Ø Available to travel by plane in the Nunavik region as needed


Conditions and benefits

COMPENSATION:
The applicable working conditions are those of middle managers in the health and social services sector.

CLASS 36:
Min: $$74 481 to Max. $96 826 / year
