Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Director, the buyer will be responsible for purchasing parts for the manufacture of architectural lighting.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Monitor stock levels daily, purchase parts in back order or at their re-order point
Negotiate prices, lead times, payment discounts
Place orders and follow up with suppliers as well as internal and external coordination for goods and services under their responsibility
Actively participate to reduce costs, rationalize inventory in your portfolio
Maintain data related to items and suppliers in the ERP system
Support the new product development team for the purchasing portion

Experience (minimum experience required):

Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Operations and Production Management or equivalent
Minimum 5 years experience with the complete Supply Chain cycle (search, cost analysis, negotiation, sample buying and quality control)
Written and verbal bilingualism (French and English)
Experience in the manufacturing sector (essential)
Experience working with different parts and materials (steel, aluminum, plastic, electrical / electronic components, etc.)
Excellent knowledge of purchasing, logistics, planning and material control functions
Good knowledge of ERP (Dynamics AX asset)
Negotiation and sourcing (Asset)
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to negotiate and solve problems
Ability to communicate clearly
Sense of priorities and solutionoriented
