Program Manager
The Program Manager is responsible for the supervision of staff, students and volunteers of Blue Door. In conjunction with the Director, Programs - Housing and Employment, the Program Manager will assist in program development and implementation of the new Transitional Housing and Health Programs ensuring that goals of the programs are consistent with the agency's philosophy, are client-centered, are understood by all persons working in the program, and are consistent with the intent of the program


What does a Program Manager do?

  • Implement strategies for effective supervision, mentoring, and coaching of staff, students, and volunteers, ensuring alignment with the program's goals and the agency's mandate. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to agency policies, collective agreements, and relevant procedures. Handle conflict situations promptly and effectively, utilizing appropriate intervention techniques and conflict resolution strategies to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee program expenditures, participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes, and ensure optimal resource allocation. Maintain accurate records, compile program statistics and data, and prepare regular reports to assess program outcomes and trends, supporting evidencebased decisionmaking.
  • Foster productive relationships with community resources, coordinating as needed to enhance program effectiveness and meet client needs. Facilitate collaboration between staff and other programs or support services, promoting a holistic approach to client care and service delivery.
  • Develop and implement protocols for handling crises in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provide timely followup and support to the team, ensuring a coordinated and compassionate response to emergent situations while prioritizing client safety and wellbeing.
  • Actively participate in ongoing program review and evaluation, soliciting feedback from staff and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and adaptation. Make recommendations for program enhancements and accommodations based on evolving client needs and emerging best practices, contributing to the program's overall effectiveness and sustainability.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Social Work Degree or equivalent combination of Bachelor level education and experience.
  • Experience in an organized labour environment.
  • Excellent coaching, team building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in database management.
  • Experience working within a harm reduction philosophy.

Salary information:
$60,000 to $65,000 annual salary dependent on experience.

Pay:
$60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
