We want to hear from you Join the FortisBC family and be part of our Information Systems team.

As the Testing Manager, you will establish and evolve testing best practices and standards. You will develop and execute detailed test plans and strategies for projects and upgrades.

You'll be doing all of this by leading and coaching a team of QA analysts, striving for perfection, and providing the quality users deserve.


In this role, you will:
Be responsible for the planning and direction of unit, regression, functional, integration and user acceptance testing.
Ensure solutions are thoroughly tested before promotion to the production environment.

Provide leadership to staff and contractors using effective management techniques; participate in recruiting activities, make hiring decisions, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance reviews.

Establish documentation to support onboarding and succession planning.


In year 1, you will:
Become familiar with test strategies and frameworks including testing tools and technologies.
Gain a strong understanding of the Information Systems Quality Assurance testing processes.
Maintain current quality assurance testing practices.
Continue to promote the use of automated testing.
Identify and document efficiencies in testing processes.
Promote the use of Quality Assurance testing services throughout Information Systems.
Mature and document Testing governance, workflows, processes, and job tasks


What it takes:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma of Technology in Computer Science or equivalent discipline from a recognized program plus 4 to 7 years of related experience with test management, testing methodologies or automated testing tools, or a combination of equivalent experience and testing certifications (e.g. ITSQB).
Ability to build strong and collaborative partnerships.
Passion for coaching and leading individuals.
Excellent knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices, including automated testing.
Must be able to travel (valid DL required).
