Job Summary:
As a Commissary Prep Cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team.

Your main tasks will include preparing ingredients according to recipes, maintaining a clean work environment, adhering to food safety standards, and assisting with food preparation for catering and special events.

This role requires attention to detail, the ability to handle a fast-paced environment, and flexibility in schedule.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare ingredients according to specified recipes and quality standards.
  • Measure and portion ingredients accurately for baking and cooking.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, such as mixers, slicers, and ovens, safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all customers.
  • Assist with food preparation for catering and special events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the commissary Manager/supervisor.

Qualifications:


  • Experience in a professional kitchen setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
  • Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work up to 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Part-time hours: 30-35 per week


Salary:
$15.50-$17.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Mississauga, ON L4Y 4C5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Food preparation: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (preferred)
  • Overnight Shift (preferred)
  • Night Shift (preferred)
