Intent of the process:

Immediate need: 1 full-time temporary position (June 2023 to March 2024).

Information you must provide:

Your résumé.

Graduation with a B.Sc.

(or higher degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution in biology or plant sciences with specialization in plant biology, molecular biology, plant biotechnology, plant biochemistry or other specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards.

Degree equivalency

Experience conducting research activities in molecular biology including DNA and RNA extraction and quantification.
Experience presenting research outcomes and writing reports or scientific manuscripts.
Experience conducting research activities on plant pathogens.

Experience conducting gene expression analyses using qRT-PCR.
Experience in protein biochemistry, including conducting protein extraction, PAGE, Western blotting and enzymatic assays.
Experience working and conducting research studies with cereals (i.e. barley, wheat, triticale, rice, sorghum or maize).
Experience in plant cell/tissue culture and plant regeneration.
Experience in pathogen culture and plant inoculation.
Experience with plant genetic engineering methodology.
