MDA is a leader in the provision of earth observation systems and services, catering to both the Canadian and international markets.

MDA is currently a seeking one full-time staff member to join the team operating a satellite ground station near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

The successful applicant would be required to monitor ground station operations and provide first line maintenance support in a 24/7 operation.

MDA is seeking qualified personnel with skills in the following categories:


Responsibilities/tasks:


  • Ensure scheduling and tasking of reception activities to assure system readiness for reception
  • Monitor data reception activities from scheduling and reception to final data transfer to archive
  • Tasking and monitor TT&C activities & reporting
  • Detect and report any operational and technical problems
  • Assist in maintaining accurate logs of system activities and reports
  • Support the Senior Technician in system and equipment maintenance, Level 1 preventative maintenance and repairs, and maintenance logs
  • Shift work will be required
  • Available on call 24/7

Qualifications include:


  • 13 years of experience required in this domain
  • Good Computer Skills and interested in satellite data reception
  • Experience in data production and system maintenance
  • Experience in system hardware/software preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Experience in data reception, utilizing RF antenna subsystems
