    Position Details

    The University of Lethbridge International invites applications for a full-time continuing Administrative Assistant I position. Reporting to the Executive Director, International, and the Manager, International Student Services, the Administrative Assistant will provide a wide range of diverse administrative services related to the day-to-day operations of the International Centre including finance, student inquiries and student support.

    Main duties include:
  • Supporting the Executive Director, International with appointment bookings, minute and note-taking during departmental and committee meetings, departmental budget tracking, reporting, financial payment processing, invoice creation and human resources administration
  • Assisting with Conversion Communication Plan for new incoming international students from the point they receive an offer to when they arrive in Canada
  • Providing support to new and continuing students in various ways including provision of letters and study permit tracking
  • Handling front-counter reception and general inquiries from international and domestic students when required
  • Position Qualifications The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 2 year diploma and at least two years of prior related work experience with international programs in a post-secondary environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Telephone skills
  • Cultural sensitivity, as well as the ability to exercise independent judgment and to maintain effective working relationships within the University community, is essential.
    Other preferred skills include professionalism, initiative, rapport building, patience, flexibility, and customer service skills. The ability to speak other languages is an asset.

    The ideal candidate will also have experience in a post-secondary environment, and familiarity with University of Lethbridge programs, Microsoft Office Suite, Banner Finance and Student Information Systems. Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4, $4,469.00 monthly Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4, $4,921.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 8)
