Position Title:
Technical Performance Coordinator


Position Salary:

PURPOSE OF POSITION

  • Work alongside NLSA members on all technical performance programming and issues through the development and performance streams of Canada Soccer Long Term Player Development model.
  • Work closely with the NLSA staff assigned to the registration and course management duties for technical performance programs, acting as their indirect supervisor on performance programming
  • Provide and support programs that will ensure player registration, retention, education, Travel, talent identification, promotion, training and development in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Liaise with the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) on all technical performance matters in Canada

PRIMARY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:


  • 1. Reporting Relationship_
  • The Technical Performance Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director of the NLSA.
  • 2. Working Relationship Professional_

  • Canada Soccer Personnel
  • All clubs across the province
  • 3. Working Relationship Volunteer Associations_
  • NLSA Soccer Member Associations
  • NLSA Soccer Sanctioned District/League/Community Representatives

AUTHORITY


Within such limits, as may be established together by the NLSA Executive Director and within the normal operating procedures and policies of the Association.

The NLSA Technical Performance Coordinator, using sound business judgement, is empowered with the stewardship and accountability for their area of responsibility.


ACTIVITIES/DUTIES

  • Lead the preparation and organization of the provincial and whitecaps programs and be a point of contact for the program governing bodies.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and associated organization representatives lead in the planning and delivery of provincial activities
  • Support NLSA Soccer members in their player identification and evaluation processes for NLSA Soccer provincial and whitecaps program selection
  • Assist in the observation and reporting of player identification for NLSA Soccer player identification events
  • Maintain a close relationship with NLSA Soccer members to encourage adherence to standards and appropriate communication with the relevant clubs
  • Establish a positive, safe, healthy corporate/team environment that is conducive to high morale and satisfactory interaction between all employees
  • Follow the performance planning and appraisal process
  • Participate in ongoing personal training and/or performance improvement plans as required.
  • Delivery of Grass Roots Coach Education Course
  • Creating and Managing a Futsal Program
  • Domestic and International Travel

Reporting

  • Participate in biweekly staff meetings and inform staff on productivity in defined areas of responsibility
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information to Executive Director
  • Submit complete and accurate monthly reports, plans, and expense reports (timeline to be approved by the Executive Director)

Note:

The Technical Performance Coordinator will be required to undertake tasks and activities associated with any of the above processes.

QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education

  • Canada Soccer Youth Licence, or B Licence or Higher Certification.
  • Sports management certification or qualifications.
  • Relevant current required NCCP certification courses.
  • Current Police Background check
  • Clean driving abstract.
  • Canadian work permit (where applicable) and Valid Passport
B. Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Should have Five (5) or more years of experience coaching players of all levels of soccer.
  • Experience in creating, implementing, and evaluating multiyear development plans for grassroots programs.
  • Knowledge of current provincial challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the association
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work with volunteers in a notfor profit environment
  • Knowledge of financial management is an asset.
  • Superior communication skills are essential for this highprofile position.
  • Can work with mínimal supervision.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Must be well organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Booking facilities for the programs
  • Responsible for team travel, flights, hotels.
C. Working Conditions

  • The Technical Performance Coordinator will work partially in an office environment, but the mission of the association will most often take them to nonstandard workplaces with travel requirements province wide.
  • The Technical Performance Coordinator has flexible work hours to which evenings and weekends are an expected commitment to this role.
