Maintenance Technician

Overview
Housing Alternatives Inc. is currently hiring a Maintenance Technician to help manage the general maintenance and curb appeal of the apartment community. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who enjoys being hands-on and helping customers. Does this sound like you Join us


Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of vacant units for occupancy (including minor repairs, painting and minor cleaning)
• Property inspections
• Maintenance repairs as required
• Inspecting grounds, buildings
• Maintain maintenance files, records
• Minor grounds maintenance
• Snow removal from walkways, stairs
• Respond to emergency calls (after hours) including fire alarms

Knowledge and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• WHMIS
• Fluency in the English language (both orally and in writing)
• Comfortable using computers and software
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in teams
• Have oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external vendors and customers.
• Ability to problemsolve
• Demonstrated judgment within the scope of duties
• Excellent organization, planning and time management skills
• Mechanically inclined; experience with hand tools and minor repairs

Hours:

Thirty-five hours per week. Evening and weekend work may be necessary on occasion.


Salary:

Competitive wage


Other:

Valid class 5 drivers license and
reliable vehicle necessary. Mileage is reimbursed per km.

Salary:

$18.00-$21.00 per hour
