The Association of Municipal Administrators, Nova Scotia (AMANS) is seeking a Policy Analyst to support our membership and the work of the Association.
AMANS is a professional association of current and future municipal government managers and administrators, dedicated to excellence in municipal government through education, objective advice and networking.
Reporting to the AMANS Executive Director, the Policy Analyst will:- Carry out research and analysis and develop policy in the best interest of municipal government.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to form evidencebased policy recommendations.
- Provide strategic advice to the AMANS Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Lead and support AMANS events, programs and projects, such as the municipal salary survey, municipal bylaw and policy library, annual spring and fall conferences and AGM, and member/stakeholder communications.
The following are considered assets for the position: knowledge of local government issues; familiarity with legislation relating to the Municipal Government Act, and municipal operations; experience working with volunteers, committees and boards; and website management systems skills/experience.
